If you’ve updated your device to iOS 9, you’ve gained the ability to quickly select multiple images in the Photos app (or perhaps I should say re-gained). This will help you quickly select
multiple images in Photos with a simple swiping gesture, so you don’t have to spend time tapping each one individually.
Obviously, this won’t save you a ton of time when you’re working with just one or two images, but if you’re trying to move or delete many pictures, it can significantly cut down on your required efforts. You may already know about this little trick, but for those that don’t, here’s a quick tutorial for you.
How to quickly select multiple pictures in Photos app
Step 1. Open the Photos app on your iOS 9 device, and navigate to an album or your Camera Roll.
Step 2. Tap the Select button in the upper right-hand corner.
Step 3. Tap on the first photo you’d like to add to your selection and slide your finger to the right.
Step 4. When you reach the end of the row, slide your finger down to the next (without lifting it). Doing this selects the entire row, and you can swipe back to the left to remove photos one-by-one.
It’s worth noting this doesn’t require 3D Touch. So anyone with iOS 9 can do it, and those with a newer iPhone 6s don’t need to deep-press. Just tap like you’d normally tap a button and slide your finger across the screen. It’s also worth mentioning this works from both right to left and left to right.
